DENVER, Colo. (October 12, 2023) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference match at Regis on Thursday at Regis Turf Fields in Denver.
For the match, Regis outperformed the ThunderWolves and managed 21 shots against ten from the Pack. CSU Pueblo was led offensively by
Cortney Cowles (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) who finished with three shots.Â
Ashley Bennett (So., Lakeville, Minn.) ended with two shots and one landing on goal.
In the first half, both teams competed for the ball and had limited chances at the net, battling the winds.
Through the first period, Regis recorded 14 shots against just three from the ThunderWolves. In the half, CSU Pueblo earned one corner kick.
In the second half, CSU Pueblo had their first good look at the net during the 52' by
Carlia Johnson (Jr., The Valley, Anguilla) fired at the net a shot that was saved by Regis goalkeeper Grace Glover.
The Pack fired another shot on goal in the 74th minute off the foot of
Katie Bean (R-Jr., Bothell, Wash.).
The ThunderWolves attacked the net one more time in the waning minutes, firing back-to-back shots in the 87' and 88' minute but the defense and strong play at the net by Glover helped to keep the ThunderWolves out of the net.

Nicole Genis (Sr., San Jose, Costa Rica) made seven saves and faced 21 shots along with one goal allowed.
CSU Pueblo (3-3-5, 1-2-3 RMAC) will next travel north and face Black Hills State on Sunday starting at Noon in Spearfish, S.D.
