(October 1, 2023) - For the second time in ten days, Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer faced-off against Colorado School of Mines on Sunday and the No. 7 ThunderWolves came away with a big 3-0 shutout win over the Orediggers to finish off an unbeaten weekend to begin Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.

Alon Firdman (So., Barcelona, Spain) and Caio Oliveira (Sr., Espigao d'Oeste, Brazil) each tallied assists in the match.

For the game, CSU Pueblo controlled the ball offensively and fired 12 shots against just five from Mines.

Starting the match with the ball, CSU Pueblo booted the ball ahead in to Orediggers side of the pitch and the offense quickly earned a corner kick attempt in the first thirty seconds.

Oliveira, one of the Pack's corner kick specialists, took the corner and served in a ball that was deflected by the defense and went back out to a trailing Oliveira who sent in another ball high, allowing DeMark to hit in a header goal after just :50 seconds passed.

After taking the early lead, the ThunderWolves defense stepped up and did not allow Mines to hit their first shot until the 9-minute mark of the game.

The teams changed possession throughout the period and the Orediggers managed two more shots over the last ten minutes of the first half.

Starting the final period, CSU Pueblo caused a turnover in the first five minutes of play and Campora received the ball and took it downfield and was taken down inside the box and was given a penalty kick.

Campora hit the lower left of the net to give the Pack a 2-0 lead.

The Pack again took over the ball and fired back-to-back shots less than a minute later that was blocked by the defense.

CSU Pueblo added another score during the 75' after Firdman passed out wide to Campora who finished with a one-timer goal and a 3-0 Pack lead.

At goalkeeper, Tristan Whitlock (So., Lincoln, Neb.) and Ruben Volkert (Fr., Baden-Württemberg, Germany) combined for the sixth clean sheet of the year for the ThunderWolves. Whitlock made one save in over 84 minutes between the net and Volkert faced no shots.
