Campora nets four goals in shutout win against Northwest Nazarene

BILLINGS, Mont. (Sept. 3, 2022) - No. 23 Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer earned its second straight clean sheet of the season in dominating fashion, beating Northwest Nazarene 6-0 behind a four-goal performance put forth by Gabriel Campora (Jr., Saltilla, Mexico).

Campora's four goals in the match is the most for a Pack player since Carlos Espinoza's hat trick last season.

Campora finished the weekend with nine points after he added an assist during Thursday's win over MSU Billings.

Reggie Nicolas (Jr., Palm Bay, Fla.) and Caio Oliveira (Jr., Espigao D'Oeste, Brazil) both scored their second goals of the season during in the second half. He also served in an assist on the final goal of the match.

Mario Sandoval (Jr., Emporia, Kan.) earned a pair of dimes along with Kenshin Uneo (Jr., Hyoga, Japan), Aden O'Hara (So., Melbourne, Fla.) and Fernando Herrera (Jr., Quertaro, Mexico) each tallied one assist.

Pack Head Coach Oliver Twelvetrees had high praise of the ThunderWolves play Saturday. "It was a perfect performance and weekend together. We were dominant today in every aspect."

He added, "Another clean sheet led by Shjon Andrews (Sr., Longmont, Colo.) at center back who has been top class leading our new defensive unit this season. Gabriel led the line brillantly and his 4 goals were different class."

In the match CSU Pueblo recorded twenty shots and had 12 land on frame. The strong defensive performance resulted in the Nighthawks making six shots with only three going on goal.

NNU finished ahead in corners by an 8-5 clip.

Campora led all players with seven shots and four shots on goal.

CSU Pueblo (3-1) returns home and will host St. Mary's Wednesday and will take on Lubbock Christian Friday both at 7 p.m. at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
