Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Griffins get past ThunderWolves 2-1

SALT LAKE CITY (Sept. 25, 2022) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team wrapped up the weekend and battled for a full ninety minutes of action Sunday at Westminster, falling 2-1 to the Griffins at WC's Dumke Field.

Jordin Schaller netted her first goal of the season with less than two minutes on the clock after the ThunderWolves controlled the ball at midfield and a nice through ball pass was sent to the right wing to Kia Comstock and she fed in a cross to Schaller who was going full strength past the defense and was able to get her foot on the ball and watch it cross into the right side of the goal.

The first half was a defensive battle as both teams went scoreless and the Pack recorded one of three shots on goal and one corner in the match during the first half.

The Griffins got on the board first during the 54th minute and took a two-goal lead with about 23 minutes left in regulation.

Jacquelyn Kosegarten led the ThunderWolves with two shots.

In the net, Nicole Genis started and made one save in just over 24 minutes before Cortney Cowles made her first appearance at goal and made six saves, allowing both goals to the Griffins.

CSU Pueblo (2-8, 1-3 RMAC) will stay on the road next week and battle Black Hills State on Friday and at MSU Denver on Sunday.
