Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

ThunderWolves sweep New Mexico Highlands in straight sets

PUEBLO, Colo. (Sept. 23, 2022) - The Colorado State University Pueblo volleyball team made quick work of its match against New Mexico Highlands, sweeping the Cowgirls 3-0 (25-20, 25-15, 25-20) and pushed their home win streak to four games at Massari Arena.

The ThunderWolves were offensively by Jazzy Espinoza who finished with double-digit kills (11) and Payton Van Veen who recorded 9 kills of her own.

Sabrina King and Grace Hern again were strong in libero and combined for 30 assists on the night.

The Pack received two service aces apiece by Espinoza, Hannah Delor and Elaine Thibadeau.

In the first set, CSU Pueblo took a bit to settle down as they allowed Highlands to remain in the set and carried a two-point lead late in the set before the ThunderWolves were able to come away with the five-point set win.

The ThunderWolves virtually put the game away as early as the second set and in the match totaled eleven blocks guided by three from Espinoza and Sadie Scoville and two coming from Milica Djukic.

The Pack capitalized on 10 service errors from NMHU.

CSU Pueblo (11-2, 4-1 RMAC) will look to stay at on its home court with another RMAC clash set for Saturday versus Adams State. First serve is set for 4 p.m. at Massari Arena.
