COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 9, 2022) – Colorado State University Pueblo baseball will continue its season Wednesday at 3 p.m. when the 26-24 ThunderWolves head to Grand Junction, Colo. and kick-off the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Baseball Tournament with a match-up against the three-seed Metropolitan State University Denver.
The RMAC announced its official bracket Monday afternoon with CSU Pueblo as the fourth-seed and Colorado Mesa University as the top-seed and host.
Tournament play will begin Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Regis University and Colorado School of Mines leading it off with a 2-5 matchup. The Pack and Roadrunners will square off with each other at 3 p.m. followed by Colorado Mesa and UCCS bringing it home with a 7 p.m. showdown between the top and the sixth seeds.
The tournament will be held as a double-elimination format and will feature its championship on Saturday. Each round will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The championship will take place at either 1 p.m. or 4:30 p.m. depending on the number of teams remaining after games five and nine.
Depending on how many teams remain after the fifth game of the week, the championship will either take place on Saturday at 1 p.m. or 4:30 p.m.
In the regular season, CSU Pueblo was victorious against MSU Denver five out of seven games played. The Pack took three of the four games played against the then-ranked No. 24 Roadrunners March 12-13.
In the four-game pod played at CSU Pueblo, the Pack faced the Roadrunners twice and split with a 7-2 win followed by an 8-2 loss.
The ThunderWolves ended their regular season 26-24 and finished with their highest win-percentage since 2018.
