SURPRISE, Ariz. (March 21, 2022) – The Colorado State University Pueblo women's tennis team avoided the snow in Colorado and traveled to Arizona where the ThunderWolves fell to Ottawa University, 7-0.
Tilly Blasdale (So., Dover, United Kingdom) had a strong outing for the Pack on the day as she lost 6-1 in the first set before taking two games in a 6-2 loss to Giulia Leali while
Katherine Ambrose (Fr.) lost 6-0 and 6-1 to Johanna Sotelo-Mena.
Roma Cordova (So., Belen, N.M.) fell 6-1 to Antonia Kostoff before falling 6-0 in the second set and
Alyssa Wells (So., Converse, Texas) lost 6-0 and 6-2 to Paulette Careaga.
Malaya Pendon (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) lost 6-0, 6-0 to Cassidy Clark and
Sonrisa Bustamante (So., Pueblo, Colo.) lost 6-0, 6-0 to Veroninca Gallardo.
In the double's competitions, Ambrose and Blasdale teamed up against Careaga and Sotelo-Mena where the Spirit won 6-0.
Bustamante and Cordova also lost 6-0 to Kostoff and Leali while Pendon and Wells were able to win the only sets in doubles for the Pack, but ending up falling 6-2.
The ThunderWolves will stay up in Arizona and are scheduled to take on Mesa Community College on Wednesday, March 23rd, at 5:30 p.m. MT.
