Davis Tabbed D2CCA First Team All-Region

LUBBOCK, Texas (March 10, 2022) – After bursting onto the scene in the 2021-22 women's basketball season, Alisha Davis was able to tally another accolade to her credit and claim a D2CCA First Team All-Region honor, as announced by the association Thursday morning. Davis was one of two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) players to be tabbed as First Team All-Region.

The transfer junior, Davis (Aurora, Colo.) had a storied first season with the CSU Pueblo women's basketball squad and immediately an impact on both offense and defense. As of March 10, per game, Davis averaged 16.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.0 blocks and 2.1 steals.

Davis' 71 blocks led all RMAC players and ranks third all-time in school history for most recorded in season. She is also one of two Pack players to average 15 points and record 60 blocks in the same season (Molly Rohrer 2016-17). If Davis finishes the season still averaging above 16 points per game, she would be the sole ThunderWolves athlete to average that many points and have over 70 blocks.

Her blocks per game ranks Davis fourth in the nation while her 71 blocks put her 15th in the country.

The junior also made her way into the CSU Pueblo records books throughout the season. Davis tied the program record for most blocks in a game with eight.

On top of tying for the most blocks tallied in a single game in program history, Davis also retains the third-most (seven) and fifth-most (six). Her seven steals recorded on Feb. 18 against Western Colorado were enough to tie her four the fourth-most nabbed in a single game.

Building off her superb defensive play, Davis was able to dominate down low throughout the season, having recorded five double-doubles. On Feb. 12, Davis logged a season-high 13 rebounds to go with 24 points in a strong Pack win over Fort Lewis.

Davis leads the ThunderWolves with 141 field goals and 391 points on the season. The junior big is also the only Pack player to drain 100 free throws this season, as Davis has shot a proficient 100-138 (72.5%) from the charity stripe.

In 24 games played, Davis recorded 21 games with double-figure scoring and highlighted her season with two contests that featured 10-made field goals.

Davis and the CSU Pueblo women's basketball team heads to Canyon, Texas for a rematch date with Lubbock Christian University in the first round of NCAA Division II National Tournament on Friday at noon.
