ThunderWolves Lose Home Season-Finale to Fort Lewis

PUEBLO, Colo. (Feb. 19, 2022) – Four players scored in double-figures for the Colorado State University Pueblo men's basketball team, but it's not enough against Fort Lewis College as the ThunderWolves come up short in their home finale 97-84.

Fort Lewis improves to 17-7 overall and 13-5 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play while the ThunderWolves drop to 11-15 overall and 8-12 in league play.

Offense was no problem to start the game as the teams were matched at 9 points each just three minutes into the game. A 4-0 run from the Pack gave them their biggest lead of the game after Isaiah Thompson (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) finished a three-point-play and Elijah Moleon () followed by getting fouled and going one of two from the free throw line to give the Pack a 13-9 lead. But the lead didn't last wrong.

The Skyhawks followed with a 12-2 run to take a 21-15 lead as the ThunderWolves took a 47-34 advantage at the break.

The Skyhawks later scored and extended their lead to as much as 14 points in the second half as the ThunderWolves looked to mount a second half comeback. The ThunderWolves weren't going away so easily, going on a 9-0 run themselves to cut the deficit down to six points with eleven and a half minutes to play but consistent free throws and nagging defense saw the Skyhawks walk out of Massari Arena with a 97-84 win.

Lian Ramiro (Fr., Aurora, Colo.) paced the ThunderWolves with 27 points with 23 of them coming in the second half, to go along with six rebounds and two assists while Thompson and De'Shaun Cooper (Fr., Poway, Calif.) scored 14 points apiece. Moleon finished with 10 points for the Pack and grabbed six rebounds.

The ThunderWolves will be back in action next weekend for their final two games of the regular-season with games against Regis on Friday and Mines on Saturday.
