ThunderWolves pick up Senior Day sweep

PUEBLO, Colo. (Nov. 4, 2022) - Colorado State University Pueblo volleyball cruised to a 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-23) conference win over Colorado Christian on Friday and with the win remain in fifth place in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference standings with one match left in the regular season.

The Pack improved to 12-5 on RMAC play and 19-6 overall.

In the match, CSU Pueblo earned 42 kills and hit a game-high 46.4% during the second set.

Jazzy Espinoza ended with a team-high 10 kills, her sixth double-digit outing of the season. She also was a brick wall and totaled five blocks at the net.

Payton Van Veen was magical from the serve and earned four aces in the match. Van Veen added eight kills of her own and a pair of blocks to her record.

CSU Pueblo dished out 39 assists led by Sabrina King's game-high 23 dimes.

Grace Hern chipped in nine assists.

Megan Mattingly was strong against the attack and got 14 digs. Elaine Thibadeau was all over the place and picked up 10 digs and five assists.

With one match left in the regular season, CSU Pueblo clinches the fifth seed in the upcoming RMAC Tournament. The Pack have a two-game cushion ahead of sixth place Colorado Christian and sits two back of fourth place Colorado School of Mines, ahead of their final home game of the season against No. 1 MSU Denver on Saturday starting at 7 p.m. inside Massari Arena.
