LAKEWOOD, Colo. (Oct. 16, 2022) - The No. 3 ranked Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team suffered its first Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference loss of the season, falling 2-0 at Colorado Christian.
The ThunderWolves out shot CCU 16-7, most of the shots came during the first half for CSU Pueblo.
The offense created eight corner kick opportunities.
Gabriel Campora led all players with five shots and three other Pack players recorded multiple shots.
In the first half, the Pack had several good looks at the net and each shot was defended and saved by the CCU back line.Â
During the 37th minute, CSU Pueblo was issued a red card against one of the center backs resulting in the ThunderWolves having to play the rest of the match down one player.
The teams battled to a scoreless affair through the first forty-five minutes of action. At the break, CSU Pueblo had 12 shots tallied against two from CCU.
Entering the second half, both teams intensity was increased.
The Cougars scored the first goal of the game during the 62' when a ball was sent from beyond midfield ahead to the CCU striker who was able to get a shot off past the ThunderWolves defense and goalkeeper.
Twelve minutes passed when CCU again was able to get the ball in ThunderWolves territory and hit a shot that landed inside the right post for the two goal lead.
A last stitch effort by CSU Pueblo fell short over the final fifteen minutes of play.

CSU Pueblo (12-3-1, 6-1-1 RMAC) stays on the road for its last road match of the regular season Wednesday at University of Colorado Colorado Springs starting at 7 p.m. at Mountain Lion Stadium.
