GUNNISON, Colo. (September 26, 2021) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team improved to 2-0-0 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play after picking up a 2-0 win Sunday at Western Colorado University.
The ThunderWolves received scores from
Lainee Vujcich (Fr., Pueblo, Colo.) and
Madison Jepperson (Sr., Cottonwood Heights, Utah).
Overall, CSU Pueblo recorded 18 shots and was led by
Katie Bean (R-Fr., Bothell, Wash.) with four shots.
Litzy Serna (Sr., West Jordan, Utah) and
Faith Meredith (Jr., Cheyenne, Wyo.) both tallied three shot attempts.
Defensively, the Pack allowed six shots and eight corner kicks.
Alyssa Mireles (Sr., Las Vegas, Nev.) and
Daniela Torres (Fr., Denver, Colo.) both earned assists on each of the goals scored.
At goal,
Breanna Encinas (Fr., Firestone, Colo.) saw her first action of the season and stood tall, facing two shots.
Nicole Genis (So., San Jose, Costa Rica) also saw minutes at goal and faced four shots by the Mountaineers.
CSU Pueblo (3-4-0, 2-0-0 RMAC) returns home and will start a four match homestand Friday against Colorado Mesa. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at Gonzales Stadium.
