PUEBLO, Colo. (September 25, 2021) - The Colorado State University Pueblo volleyball team put up a valiant effort against No. 3 ranked Metropolitan State University of Denver, falling 3-2 (21-25, 25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 15-17) Saturday inside Massari Arena.
Payton Stack (Sr., Casper, Wyo.) led the team with 13 kills and
Hannah Delor (Jr., Marysville, Mich.) recorded another double-digit night in kills, putting up eleven in the match.
As a team, the ThunderWolves posted a .165 hitting percentage and managed seven service aces, led by
Elaine Thibadeau (Jr., Monument, Colo.) who served up three service aces.
Thibadeau also led the Pack with 28 digs and Delor recorded 17 digs against the potent Roadrunner offense.
After dropping the first set, CSU Pueblo responded with 18 kills in set two and a .137 hit percentage. Through two sets, the ThunderWolves had nine blocks, four of which came solo at the net.
Jazzy Espinoza (Jr., Cheyenne, Wyo.) guided the Pack defense with eight blocks while
Grace Hern (Jr., Omaha, Neb.) made 17 assists in the match.
CSU Pueblo (9-3, 3-1 RMAC) will start a four match RMAC road swing next week and take on New Mexico Highlands Friday, Oct. 1 and will return to action the following night at Adams State.
