LUBBOCK, Tex. (September 12, 2021) - Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer's four match win streak to start the 2021 fall season came to an end on Sunday after the ThunderWolves fell 1-0 in overtime against Lubbock Christian in Lubbock, Texas.
For the match, CSU Pueblo was guided by
Vinzent Zingel (So., Aachen, Germany) with five total shots, while freshman
Lamar Bynum (Albuquerque, NM) fired three shots and two landing on frame.
Nazar Deputat (Sr., Ocala, Fla.) also had three shots in the match.
At halftime, CSU Pueblo had recorded double-digits with ten shots and earned four corners.
During the second half, the ThunderWolves continued to get good looks at the net and the defense played well in limiting LCU to just one shot in the period.
Leading to their first extra time match of the season, the Pack managed a shot at the 94' and LCU would in return drive the ball across midfield and in their first shot of extra time, found the back of the net for the golden goal for the home team.
Pack goalkeeper
Garret Wild (Jr., Brownsville, Tex.) made six saves in over 96 minutes at goal.
CSU Pueblo (4-1-0) will return home and play host to MSU Denver on Thursday at 7 p.m. in a nonconference match at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
