COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (May 15, 2021) – The Colorado State University Pueblo baseball team has secured the fifth seed in the 2021 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament, set for May 19-22. Colorado Mesa University clinched the No. 1 seed and the right to host in Grand Junction, Colorado.
The ThunderWolves will make their first postseason appearance under first-year Head Coach
Damian Stambersky. The Pack have made 12 straight conference tournaments.
CSU Pueblo went 14-22 overall during the regular season. The ThunderWolves' 12-20 RMAC record was good for the fifth seed. The Pack are scheduled to battle No. 2 seed Metropolitan State University of Denver May 19. The two teams will open the tournament with a 10 a.m. first pitch at Suplizio Field.
MSU Denver comes into the game ranked regionally and sits 21st nationally. The Roadrunners went 32-8 during the regular season and posted a 28-8 RMAC record.
The ThunderWolves went 2-4 against MSU Denver this season with both wins coming on the road. The Roadrunners had started the season 9-0 before CSU Pueblo won 3-1 on March 11. The second time the Pack won the Roadrunners were ranked No. 18, as the ThunderWolves posted a 4-3 win on March 28.
