PUEBLO, Colo. (March 7, 2021) - It took 12 innings, but Colorado State University Pueblo Baseball eventually fell to Regis University 14-6 Sunday at Rawlings Field.
With the win, the Rangers completed the sweep of the ThunderWolves to move to 8-0 and start Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play 4-0. The Pack opens up RMAC play 0-4 and now stands 2-6 overall.
Game Recap:
The Rangers scored in the top of the first inning as they had in every game this series. The Pack took the lead in the second.
Adrian Martinez (Sr., Tucson, Ariz.) led off the inning with a triple. He came home on a
Stone Romero (Sr., Albuquerque, N.M.) single.
Reggie Williams (So., Castle Rock, Colo.) brought home Romero on a bunt single.
After the Rangers tied the game in the fourth, the Pack reclaimed the lead in the fifth.
Ty Lewis (Jr., Pleasant Grove, Utah) cranked a double to drive in
Kodee Martin (Sr., Elkhorn, Neb.) and give the Pack a 3-2 lead.
A four-run eighth put Regis in front 6-3. Leading off the bottom of the eighth, Martin mashed a home run. Romero drove in Lewis with another single.
Logan Gibbons (Sr., Taylorsville, Utah) pushed the tying run across as he knocked in
Aidan Welch (Jr., Seattle, Wash.) to tie the game at six.
The game would remain tied until the 12th. The Rangers used an eight-run inning to claim a 14-6 victory.
Notables:
Martin's home run was his first at CSU Pueblo. He scored six runs in the series.
Lewis reached base five times, going 3-for-4 with two doubles. He also walked twice. Lewis went 8-for-15 in the series with four doubles.
Romero finished 2-for-6 on the day, He drove in a team-high two runs.
Gibbons went 2-for-4 with a double. He also started the game on the mound for the Pack, throwing five inning. He allowed just two runs on four hits. Gibbons struck out four in his first pitching start with the Pack.

Zach Macosko earned the win for Regis thanks to 3.2 innings of scoreless relief.
Emilio Martinez (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) tossed two scoreless innings of relief, but ran into trouble in the 12th, taking his first loss of the season.
