PUEBLO, Colo. (March 21, 2021) - Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer began Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play winning a defensive 1-0 battle against Adams State Sunday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
Litzy Serna (Sr., West Jordan, Utah) netted the lone goal in the 30th minute after a flurry of shots inside the 18 yard box resulted in Serna finding the ball at her feet and strikin the ball into the net. It is Serna's third goal of the season.
In the match, the ThunderWolves out shot Adams 16-5 and earned six corners against two for ASU.
Porsche Nieto (Jr., Thornton, Colo.) led all players with four shots and she earned an assist on the play in the first half.

Nicole Genis (So., San Juan, Costa Rica) made three saves.

"It was great to open RMAC play with a win at home," said Pack Head Coach
Sierra Cardenas. "Litzy has been doing a great job capitalizing on her chances in front of goal, and I'm excited to see her dedication paying off.
"As a team we had a lot of opportunities on goal today and will be looking to convert more of those chances moving forward. I am proud of the collective defensive effort as well."
CSU Pueblo (3-1-0, 1-0-0 RMAC) next goes on the road for a two match road trip starting Friday at Colorado Christian. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Trailblazer Stadium.
