Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

ThunderWolves dominant in 7-0 shutout win against Adams

PUEBLO, Colo. (March 21, 2021) - The Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team remained unbeaten and improved to 3-0-0 on the season after dominating Adams State 7-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Opener, Sunday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.

Pack players Miguel De Leon Jr. (Deltona, Fla.) and Vinzent Zingel (So., Aachen, Germany) both scored two goals and added an assist each to guide the ThunderWolves.

Hudson Gay (Fr., Fort Myers, Fla.), Josua Hall (So., Baiersbronn, Germany), and Louis Kearns (So., Liverpool, England) all netted scores for the Pack.

In the match, CSU Pueblo out shot Adams by a 25-5 clip and held a 10-4 advantage on corner kicks.

Defensively, the Pack's back line and solid play at midfield, stiffled the Grizzlies offense.

Nazar Deputat (Sr., Ocala, Fla.), Dominik Huetgens (Jr., Halstenbek, Germany), and Joe O'Sullivan (Sr., Deltona, Fla.) each picked up assists.

The Pack goalkeeper duo of Joseph Banul (Jr., Richardson, Tex.) and Garret Wild (Jr., Brownsville, Tex.) again earned their third straight shutout of the year. Banul played in the first half and faced one shot.

Wild made one save against four shots by ASU.

Coach Comments
"Today was a great team effort from the boys. Five different goal scorers plus a clean sheet. I am very happy with our commitment to the team first mentality and we were rewarded for that effort with 7 fantastic goals," said ThunderWolves Head Coach Oliver Twelvetrees.

"Miguel has been working hard all week to be more dangerous in the final third and was great to see him with a brace."

CSU Pueblo (3-0-0, 1-0-0 RMAC) next will hit the road for a two game road trip starting Friday at Colorado Christian. Kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m. at Trailblazer Stadium.
