PUEBLO, Colo. (March 10, 2021) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team dropped its home opener, falling 2-0 against No. 12 University of Colorado Colorado Springs, Wednesday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
CSU Pueblo played in their first game on their home turf and in front of fans for the first time since November 2019.
The ThunderWolves recorded eight shots and was led by
Litzy Serna (Sr., West Jordan, Utah) with two shots.
Senior
Cara Siegel (Pueblo, Colo.) tallied one shot on goal.
As a team, the Pack finished with five corners, four of them coming in the second period.Â

Nicole Genis (So., San Jose, Costa Rica) made eight saves at the net.
Coach Comments
"UCCS is always a quality opponent, and today was no exception," said Pack Head Coach
Sierra Cardenas. "They played a great defensive game and forced us to do a log of problem solving on the attack."
"We learned a lot today, and have a lot of confidence in our group to grow from this and use it as fuel to continue to improve."
CSU Pueblo (1-1-0) goes on the road Sunday and will play at MSU Denver in the final nonconference tilt. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Regency Athletic Complex in Denver.
