Pack Volleyball Opens RMAC play at MSU Denver pod

PUEBLO, Colo. (February 19, 2021) – Colorado State University Pueblo Volleyball will begin Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play Saturday in Denver when they contend with No. 4 Metropolitan State University Denver at 11 a.m. The Pack will also battle Colorado Christian University at 2 p.m.

Pack Notes:
Though the Pack has played three matches against RMAC opponents in 2021, none of those matches counted towards the conference standings. The ThunderWolves has collected a 2-1 record so far this season.
 
The ThunderWolves defeated Adams State in a sweep Saturday (25-12, 25-15, 25-17).  The Pack outhit the Grizzlies .320 to .056.
 
The Pack is receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll for the third consecutive week. Before this season, the Pack had not received votes since 1998.
 
CSU Pueblo looks to knock off a top five team for the second time this season. The Pack beat Regis University in five sets Jan. 24. It was their first win over the Rangers since 2007 and first win over a ranked opponent since 1998.
 
Jazzy Espinoza (Jr., Cheyenne, Wyo.) dominated the Grizzlies with 11 kills, four aces, five blocks. She also hit .588 for the match. Espinoza ranks fourth in the RMAC with a .385 hitting percentage. She also shares third place in the RMAC with 0.67 aces per set.
 
Payton Stack (Sr., Casper, Wyo.) leads the RMAC with 1.50 blocks per set. Stack currently ranks ninth in D-II in blocks per set. She became the first ThunderWolf ever to earn AVCA National Player of the Week honors Jan. 27.
 
Hannah Delor (Jr., Urbana, Mich.)  shares third place in the RMAC with 0.67 aces per set. Delor has averaged 2.17 kills per set and 2.08 digs per set.
 
Grace Hern (Jr., Omaha, Neb.) ranks 10th in the RMAC with 5.75 assists per set. Freshman Jessica Amend (Erie, Colo.) averages 3.56 assists per set. Grace Jansen (So.,  South Jordan, Utah) factors in the setter equation for the Pack with 3.0 assists per set.
 
Elaine Thibadeau (Jr., Monument, Colo.) leads the Pack with 3.17 digs per set. Thibadeau has reached double-digit digs in all three matches this season.
