ThunderWolves Joust With Grizzlies In Home Opener

PUEBLO, Colo. (February 12, 2021) – For the first time in 446 days, Colorado State University Pueblo Volleyball will compete on their home court when they face Adams State University Saturday Feb. 13 at 11 a.m. at Massari Arena.

Pack Notes:
Saturday's showdown with the Grizzlies will be the Pack's first contest since Jan. 24. The Pack defeated then No. 5 Regis in five sets and fell to No. 7 Colorado Mesa University in a season-opening double header.  They are 1-1 on the season
 
The Pack is receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches D-II poll for the second consecutive week. The ThunderWolves received 56 votes in the Feb. 10 poll. Prior to receiving votes in the Feb. 3 poll, the Pack had not received votes in the AVCA D-II poll since 1998, a span of 22 years.
 
With their win over the Rangers, the Pack earned its first victory over a top 25 team since 1998. The ThunderWolves also picked up the first win over the Rangers since 2007.
 
Payton Stack (Sr., Casper, Wyo.) earned AVCA National Player of the Week honors Jan. 27. Stack became the first student-athlete in program history to receive this award.  She also claimed the first RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honor of her career following the Pack's season opening double header.
 
Stack leads the RMAC with 1.67 blocks per set. She currently ranks seventh in D-II in blocks per game. Offensively, Stack averaged 2.11 kills per set and hit a team-best .350.
 
Maddy Wisniewski (Sr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) leads the Pack with 2.33 kills per set. Wisniewski knocked down 15 kills in the Pack's win over the Rangers.
 
Grace Hern (Jr., Omaha, Neb.) started her season with a double-double against Regis. Hern had 26 assists and 18 digs. She leads the Pack with 5.67 assists per game. Freshman Jessica Amend (Erie, Colo.) averaged 3.43 digs per set in her debut weekend.
 
Hern and Elaine Thibadeau (Jr., Monument, Colo.)  lead the Pack with 2.89 digs per set. Kyle Meltzer (Sr., Fort Collins, Colo.) and Hannah Delor (Jr., Marysville, Mich.) both average over two digs per set as well.
 
Delor dominated from the service line in her Pack debut. She leads the team with six aces and 0.67 aces per set. She ranks 17th nationally and fourth in the RMAC in aces per set.
 
Series History vs. Adams State:
Adams State leads the all-time series against the Pack 45-39. The Pack won the last meeting. They beat the Grizzlies in five sets Nov. 9, 2019, the first win over the Grizzlies since 2015.
