Pack looks to conquer Hardrockers

PUEBLO, Colo. (February 1, 2021) – Colorado State University Pueblo Women's Basketball will wrap up its three-game road trip Tuesday when they face South Dakota Mines Tuesday Feb. 2 at 5:30 p.m.

Starting 5 – The Top 5 CSU-Pueblo storylines
1. The ThunderWolves now stands 1-8 overall and 1-8 in RMAC play after losing to Colorado School of Mines and Regis University last weekend. The Pack battled the Orediggers for three quarters before the Orediggers pulled away with a 61-50 win. CSU Pueblo could not stop the hot-shooting Rangers who bested the Pack 77-66. 
 
2. Sydni Williams (Sr., Little Rock, Ark.) leads the Pack with 13.9 points per game. Williams ranks eighth in the RMAC with an 83.3 free throw percentage. She stands eighth in the RMAC with a team-best 6.9 rebounds per game. With 0.9 blocks per game, Williams shares eighth place in the RMAC.

3. JaNaiya Davis (Jr., Waco, Texas) ranks 18th in D-II with 5.4 assists per game. Her 5.4 assists per game lead the RMAC by 0.6 assists per game and would stand as a school record. Davis needs eight assists to surpass Shawana McElroy for sixth all-time at CSU Pueblo. Davis also ranks eighth in the nation in minutes per game. (38.22).

4. Davis and Williams are the best free throw shooting tandem in the RMAC. Davis leads the RMAC with a 92.0 free throw percentage, three percent better than anyone else in the conference. This ranks her 12th in D-II.  Williams stands eighth in the RMAC with an 83.3 free throw percentage. Williams went 7-of-8 from the line in each game last weekend. Davis and Williams rank eighth and ninth respectively in program history in free throw percentage. Davis has made 77.7 percent for her career. Williams has made 75.1 percent.
 
5. Jazzy Hughes (Sr., Tucson, Ariz.) emerged as a scoring threat for the Pack over this road trip. Hughes has averaged 11.3 points per game over her last three games. She has made 65.0 percent from the field during that span. Hughes has made 4-for-4 from downtown during her past three games.
 
Scouting South Dakota Mines:
2020-21 Record: The Hardrockers bring a 6-6 record into Tuesday's matchup. They stand 6-5 in RMAC play. The Hardrockers have won their last three games.

Series History: The ThunderWolves lead the all-time series against the Hardrockers 7-3. The Hardrockers won both meetings last year, snapping a streak of six straight victories in the series for the Pack.  

Players to Watch:  Ryan Weiss ranks third in the RMAC with 18.0 pointer per game. Anna Combalia ranks second in the RMAC with 4.8 assists per game.
