COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (November 3, 2021) - The Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team finished the regular season Wednesday, dropping a 4-2 game at No. 10 University of Colorado Colorado Springs Wednesday at Mountain Lion Stadium.
With the regular season complete, the ThunderWolves end the season with a 8-3-1 record and have secured the 5th-seed in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament that starts this weekend.
CSU Pueblo begin with a quarterfinal match Sunday on the road at No. 4 Regis at 1 p.m. at Regis Match Pitch in Denver.
Against the Mountain Lions,
Katie Bean (R-Fr., Bothell, Wash.) scored during the 72nd minute and
Faith Meredith (Jr., Cheyenne, Wyo.) in the 89th minute for CSU Pueblo.
CSU Pueblo totaled nine shots in the match and five landed on goal. Meredith and
Litzy Serna (Sr., West Jordan, Utah) both recorded two shots.
Madison Jepperson (Sr., Cottonwood Heights, Utah) was given the assist during the goal by Meredith.
The Pack played from behind starting in the 11th minute and found themselves in a 3-0 hole just beyond the halfway point in the first period.
The ThunderWolves earned three corners against seven for the Mountain Lions.
At the net,
Nicole Genis (R-So., San Jose, Costa Rica) made six saves in full minutes played.
CSU Pueblo enters the postseason with a 9-7-1 overall record.
