PUEBLO, Colo. (October 22, 2021) - On the same night the Colorado State University Pueblo women's soccer team celebrated its annual Parent's Night, the ThunderWolves clinched their spot at the Fall 2021 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament after defeating Adams State 2-0, behind goals from
Cara Siegel (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) and
Jordin Schaller (Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) Friday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
CSU Pueblo dominated the match in all facets of the game and collected 22 shots, allowed just four shots and made two saves at the net.
Faith Meredith (Jr., Cheyenne, Wyo.) led all players with her five shots and three landing on goal.
Shelby Ransom (So., Lakewood, Colo.) and
Cara Siegel (Sr., Pueblo, Colo.) each tallied three shots.
Defensively the ThunderWolves were solid and was the more aggressive team. The ThunderWolves play at midfield and with the back line was instrumental in shutting the door on Adams.
The Pack offense created several opportunities at the net throughout the match and was the first to every loose ball.
The ThunderWolves earned seven corners against one for ASU and totaled 13 first half shots and nine in the final period.

Nicole Genis (So., San Jose, Costa Rica) faced four shots in the game and made two saves in the win.
CSU Pueblo (7-5-1, 6-1-1 RMAC) will close out the home portion of its schedule on Sunday at 12 p.m. when they host New Mexico Highlands on Senior Day at Gonzales Stadium. The ThunderWolves will honor six departing student-athletes who will finish their careers at the end of the season.
