PUEBLO, Colo. (October 21, 2021) - The Colorado State University Pueblo men's soccer team battled the No. 22-ranked Colorado School of Mines to a 0-0 draw (2OT), Thursday at Art & Lorraine Gonzales Stadium.
In the game, CSU Pueblo totaled 19 shots with three landing on goal and the defense held the Orediggers to only nine shots and six of those landed on frame.
Four players led the ThunderWolves offense,
Nazar Deputat (Ocala, Fla.),
Jan Gruhn (
Schleiden, Germany),
Carlos Sanchis (Madrid, Spain) and
Vinzent Zingel (Aachen, Germany) all recorded three shots.Â
Through the first period, CSU Pueblo led 7-2 in shots and earned one corner kick.
The ThunderWolves managed ten shots in the final period and created numerous chances at the net throughout the second half including a penalty kick attempt that hit the crossbar and fell out of bounds.
CSU Pueblo was unlucky in other scoring chances, beating the defense and missing the net wide on several tries.

Garret Wild (Brownsville, Tex.) faced nine shots and made six saves in full minutes of action.
In the two overtime periods, the ThunderWolves tallied two shots and two corners, finishing the game with eight total.

CSU Pueblo (10-4-1, 3-3-1 RMAC) entertain Colorado Christian on Sunday for Senior Day. Following the match, the ThunderWolves coaching staff and players will honor 13 departing student-athletes. Kickoff against CCU is set for 3 p.m., after the women's game at noon at Gonzales Stadium.
