Pack downed by Red-hot Rangers 77-66

DENVER, Colo. (January 30, 2021) -  Colorado State University Pueblo Women's Basketball could not contain Regis University Saturday night as the hot-shooting Rangers overcame the ThunderWolves 77-66 at Regis Fieldhouse.

Turning Point:
The Rangers (3-6, 3-5 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) shot 58.3 percent from the field over the first three quarters.  This included 11-of-18 (61.1 percent) from downtown for the first 30 minutes of the game. Regis built a 26-15 lead after one and a 51-35 lead at the half.

The Pack (1-8, 1-8 RMAC) held the Rangers to 25.0 percent shooting in the fourth. CSU Pueblo tied the Rangers 18-18 in the third and won the fourth quarter 13-8.  However, the Rangers led by 16 at halftime and did enough to hang on the second half.

Individual Highlights:
 - Sydni Williams (Sr., Little Rock, Ark.) led the Pack with 15 points. She made 4-of-11 from the field and sank 7-of-8 from the free throw line. Williams also led the Pack with six rebounds. Three of her rebounds came on the offensive glass.

Jalen Long (So., Moreno Valley, Calif.) tacked on eight points on 3-of-4 shooting. She also went 2-of-2 from downtown.

Coach Johnson Quote:
"We had a slow start," said CSU Pueblo Head Basketball Coach Tommie Johnson. "Our girls just need to learn to win. That means playing from the start. We make some easy shots and a couple more stops and we are in the position we want to be in the end."

Notes:
- The Rangers made 50 percent from the field and 11 three-pointers. CSU-Pueblo made 40.7 percent from the field 44.4 percent from 3-point range.
