Pack WBB faces Skyhawks & Mountaineers in homestand

PUEBLO, Colo. (January 21, 2021) – In their first three-game week of the season, Colorado State University Pueblo Women's Basketball returns home to tangle with Fort Lewis College Friday and No. 11 Western Colorado University. Both games will start at 5:30 p.m. at Massari Arena.

Starting 5 – The Top 5 CSU-Pueblo storylines
1. The Pack dropped a Tuesday game against Metropolitan State University of Denver 72-54. The ThunderWolves now own a 1-4 record overall and in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.  CSU Pueblo went cold in the third quarter, leading the Roadrunners to a 26-7 advantage in the frame. The Pack won its most recent home game against University of Colorado Colorado Springs 62-50 thanks to a dominating third quarter performance, where they outscored the Mountain Lions 22-12.
 
2. The ThunderWolves turned the ball over just six times against the Roadrunners Tuesday. This was their lowest turnover total in a game since Jan. 30, 2016 against Westminster College. The Pack ranks second in the RMAC in ball security averaging just 11.8 turnovers per game. JaNaiya Davis (Jr., Waco, Texas) ranks second in the RMAC with a 3.7 assist to turnover ratio.
 
3. Sydni Williams (Sr., Little Rock, Ark.) led the Pack in its game against the Roadrunners with 16 points and nine rebounds. Williams averages a team-best 14.6 points per game. She also leads the teams with 7.2 rebounds per game, seventh-most in the RMAC. Her 82.6 free throw percentage ranks eighth in the RMAC.
 
4. The Pack leads the RMAC with 4.6 blocks per game. They rank 18th in D-II in blocks per game. The ThunderWolves have led the RMAC in blocks per game every year since 2015-16.  Davis, Williams, and Jazzy Hughes (Sr., Tucson, Ariz.) all share eighth place in the RMAC with 1.0 blocks per game.
 
5. With 270 career assists, Davis needs just three assists to surpass Sharla Dix for eighth all-time at CSU Pueblo. If Davis collects eight assists over the weekend, she would pass Katie Cunningham for seventh all-time at CSU Pueblo. Davis ranks third in the RMAC with 5.2 assists per game. She leads the RMAC with a 94.1 free throw percentage.
 
Scouting Fort Lewis:
2020-21 Record: The Skyhawks stand 3-4 overall and in RMAC play. They have won their last two games.  

Series History: The Pack leads the all-time series with the Skyhawks 48-37. Fort Lewis won last year's game 67-54. The Pack had won the previous 12 meetings before that.  
 
Player to Watch:  Jordan Vasquez ranks third in the RMAC with 20.7 points per game. Her 9.5 rebounds per game stand second in the conference.
 
Scouting Western Colorado:
2020-21 Record: The Mountaineers bring a 7-1 record into the weekend. They are 6-1 in RMAC play and winners of two in a row.   

Series History: The Pack leads the all-time series with the Mountaineers 45-29. Western Colorado defeated the Pack 61-50 last year and have won the last two meetings.  The Pack stands 8-2 in their last 10 matchups with Western Colorado.  Williams has averaged 15 points and eight rebounds per game in her career against the Mountaineers.
 
Player to Watch:  Hannah Cooper leads the Mountaineers with 15.9 points per game.  She ranks fourth in the RMAC with 4.9 assists per game.
