Box Score SPEARFISH, S.D. (February 7, 2020) - Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball could not contain the hot-shooting Black Hills State University Yellow Jackets Friday in a 98-78 loss at the Donald E. Young Center.
The ThunderWolves shot a season-best 43.1 percent from the field. They also made 28-of-32 from the line (87.5 percent). However, the Yellow Jackets drained 55.9 percent from the field including 14 3-pointers.
Sydni Williams (Jr., Little Rock, Ark) picked up her fifth double-double of the season. Williams scored 20 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field. She also knocked down all eight of her free throw attempts.
Williams hauled in 10 rebounds ncluding four on the offensive glass. She finished with two blocks.
Khiya Adams (Sr., Falcon, Colo.) recorded 18 points. Adams went 10-of-13 at the charity stripe. She made 4-of-9 from the field. Adams also had two blocks.
JaNaiya Davis (So., Hewitt, Texas) totaled 15 points before fouling out. Davis went 5-for-9 with a 4-for-4 showing from the line. She finished with three assists and a block.
The Pack never led as the Yellow Jackets came out on fire. Black Hills State scored the first 10 points of the game. The Yellow Jackets led 28-14 after one.
The ThunderWolves outscored Black Hills State 28-20 in the fourth. However, CSU-Pueblo could not cut the lead to single digits after the first quarter.
CSU-Pueblo will look for a win Saturday when they play South Dakota School of Mines. The last game of the Pack's four-game road trip starts at 4 p.m.
