Pack Thrashes Cowgirls in historic season finale

PUEBLO, Colo. (February 28, 2020) -  Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball ended its 2019-20 campaign on a high-note with a 97-57 win over New Mexico Highlands University Friday at Massari Arena.
 
The 97-point outburst was the Pack's highest since Dec. 16, 2011. CSU-Pueblo made an incredible 63.3 (38-of-60) percent from the field. The ThunderWolves drained 47.4 percent from downtown, which also marked a season-high. The Pack also blocked 12 shots.
 
Khiya Adams (Sr., Falcon, Colo.) celebrated her Senior Day with a game-high 22 points. Adams netted 9-of-14 from the field including 4-of-5 from downtown. She finished with three steals and a block. Adams also hauled in five more rebounds to finish her career with 430 boards, ranking her 22nd in program history.
 
JaNaiya Davis (So., Hewitt, Texas) dished out a career-high 13 assists. Davis' 13 helpers are the most by a ThunderWolf since Nov. 29, 1986, It also ranks as third-highest single game total in program history. Davis completed the double-double with 12 points. Defensively, Davis dominated with four blocks and five steals.
 
Kansas Watts (So., Houston, Texas) scored a career-high 19 points. Watts made 9-for-13 from the field. She chipped in two blocks and three steals.
 
Sydni Williams (Jr., Little Rock, Ark.) also completed a double-double. Williams finished with 15 points, making 7-of-8 at the line and 4-of-7 from the field. She also secured 10 rebounds. The double-double was Williams' sixth of the season. She added two blocks and two steals.
 
Jade Adams (Jr., Falcon, Colo.) sank all six of her field goal attempts in a perfect shooting night from the field. Adams finished with 13 points in just 19 minutes on her sister's Senior Night.
 
Jordyn Keck (So., Pueblo, Colo.) totaled a season-high 12 points. Keck did all her damage from beyond the arc. She made 4-of-7 from downtown. Keck finished with a season-high four assists.
 
The Cowgirls stayed with the Pack for much of the opening quarter. CSU-Pueblo held a 22-19 edge after one. Khiya Adams scored eight points in the first.
 
CSU-Pueblo began to run away in the second quarter. The Pack used a 10-3 run to start the frame to jump ahead by 10. The Cowgirls closed the gap to five. Holding a 37-31 lead, the Pack scored eight unanswered points to take a 45-31 edge. The Cowgirls sank a 3-pointer at the buzzer to make it 45-34 at the break.
 
The Pack broke away even more in third quarter, racing out to a 70-47 lead.  CSU-Pueblo made 73.3 percent from the field in the third quarter.
 
CSU-Pueblo outscored the Cowgirls. 52-23 in the second half, including a 27-10 advantage in the fourth quarter to close out the 97-57 win. The ThunderWolves sank 69.0 percent from the field in the second half. Davis had 10 of her 13 assists in the final 20 minutes.
 
The Pack finished the year 8-19 in Head Coach Tommie Johnson's first season. However, the Pack ended the year with its first back-to-back victories of the season.  CSU-Pueblo went 7-15 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play.
