Adams & Davis combine for 40 points in loss to Mines

PUEBLO, COLO. (February 15, 2020) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball could not stop Colorado School of Mines in a 100-65 loss Saturday at Massari Arena.
 
The Pack made 44.4 percent from the field and eight 3-pointers. However, the Orediggers sank 53.0 percent from the field and knocked down 14-of-28 from downtown. Mines also enjoyed a 42-25 advantage on the glass.
 
JaNaiya Davis (So., Hewitt, Texas) jump started the Pack's offense with 23 points. Davis went 9-of-19 from range including 4-of-9 from beyond the arc. She finished one rebounds shy of a double-double with nine boards. Davis dished out six assists and totaled two steals, while playing all 40 minutes.
 
Khiya Adams (Sr., Falcon, Colo.) scored 17 points. Adams made 8-of-17 from the field. She finished with three boards a block.
 
Olivia Klaman (Jr., Melbourne, Australia) and Kansas Watts (So., Houston, Texas) each had eight points. Jordyn Keck (So., Pueblo, Colo.) set a career-high with two blocks.
 
The Pack never led as the Orediggers raced out to an early lead. They made 63.0 percent from the field in the opening quarter and scored the last 10 points of the frame to take a 32-12 lead after one.
 
The Orediggers never looked back as they rolled to their 10th consecutive victory. Mines became the first team to hang 100 points on the Pack since Nov. 29, 2002.
 
CSU-Pueblo will look to bounce back on their final road trip of the season. This two-game road trip begins Friday Feb. 21 with a 5:30 contest at Chadron State College.
