Rocky & Pack WBB return to Massari Arena this weekend

PUEBLO, Colo. (January 16, 2020) – Colorado State University- Pueblo Women's Basketball will open a four-game homestand Friday when the Pack hosts Metro State University Denver at 5:30 p.m. The ThunderWolves will also host Chadron State College Saturday at 5:30 in the Pack's annual Take A Kid To A Game Night presented by Legacy Bank.
 
Promotions:
All kids 17 & under will receive free admission to Saturday's game. Denver Nuggets Super Mascot Rocky will perform at Saturday's contest courtesy of the Shandy Clinic. Rocky will take the court during both the men's and women's basketball games.
 
There will also be a Kid Zone with coloring and face painting stations. The Pack Women and Men's Basketball teams will also sign autographs Saturday night. Soft drinks will be provided courtesy of Pepsi to kids at Saturday Night's game.
 
Friday's game is Dress Like a Doctor Night at Massari Arena. All fans are encouraged to wear their best scrubs or lab coats.
 
Starting 5 – The Top 5 CSU-Pueblo storylines
1. CSU-Pueblo stands 3-11 overall. They are 2-7 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The ThunderWolves are seeking their first home win of the season.  Averaging 626 fans per game, the Pack ranks 41st in D-II in attendance

2. JaNaiya Davis (So., Hewitt, Texas) leads the RMAC with 4.8 assists per game. Davis tops the Pack and ranks eighth in the RMAC with 14.2 points per game. She ranks 10th in D-II in minutes per game, playing 37.3 minutes per contest.

3. The Pack continues to lead the RMAC in blocks per game. The ThunderWolves swat an average of 4.7 shots per game. CSU-Pueblo ranks 19th in D-II in blocks per game. The ThunderWolves has led the RMAC in blocks every year since the start of the 2016-17 season.

4. Davis averages 2.7 steals per game. This ranks her second in the RMAC in steals per game. She stands 32nd in D-II in steals per game.

5. Sydni Williams (Jr., Little Rock, Ark.) ranks second in the RMAC with 1.3 blocks per game.  Kansas Watts (So. Houston, Texas) and Davis both block 0.8 shots per game, tying them for eighth in the RMAC. Williams ranks fourth in the RMAC with 7.5 rebounds per game.

Scouting MSU Denver:
2019-20 Record: 5-10  (4-5 RMAC)
Series History: The Roadrunners hold a 33-22 lead in the all-time series. MSU Denver has won the last four meetings.
Player to Watch: Bree Wellington averages a team-best 9.7 points per game. Wellington makes 45.9 percent from the field.

Scouting Chadron State
2019-20 Record: 3-15 (1-8 RMAC)
Series History: The ThunderWolves lead the all-time series against the Eagles 24-5. The Pack beat Chadron State twice last season including a 74-70 win at Massari Arena. CSU-Pueblo has won the last 23 meetings between the two schools.
Player to Watch: Taryn Foxen tops the Eagles with 13.6 points per game. She has a team-high24 steals this season.
