Pack VB season opens with two 3-1 losses

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 JOPLIN, Mo. (September 6, 2019) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball started its season with a pair of 3-1 losses to Cameron University and Missouri Southern State University Friday in the Holiday Inn and Comfort Suites Southern Invitational at Robert Ellis Young Gymnasium.
 
The Pack fell to Cameron 21-25, 25-13, 24-26, 25-23. The host Lions bested the Pack 25-22, 20-25, 21-25, 23-25.
 
Sarah Vang (Sr., Parker, Colo.) knocked down 16 kills in the match against the Aggies. Vang also added 11 kills in the night cap against the Lions.
 
Grace Hern (So., Omaha, Neb.) earned the Pack's first double-double of the season against Missouri Southern State. Hern handed out 26 assists and secured 12 digs.
 
The Pack outhit the Aggies .221 to .185 in their season-opening match. They held a 73-52 advantage in points, but could not pull off the win.  
 
CSU-Pueblo will look for its first victory Saturday when they face Southwestern Oklahoma State University at 10 a.m. (MTN).  The Pack will also play Wayne State College at 2 p.m.
