DURANT, Okla. (September 14, 2019) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball knocked off the University of Arkansas-Monticello in four sets (25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 25-16) at the Southeastern Classic Saturday.
The ThunderWolves could not sweep their double-header Saturday as the Pack fell to Southern Nazarene University later in the day in four sets (18-25, 25-18, 12-25, 24-26). The Pack finished the Southeastern Classic 2-2.
Brooke Schilling (Jr., Platteville, Colo.) set a career-high with 22 digs in the win over the Boll Weevils. Schilling had nine kills in her first match and knocked down eight kills in the second match.
Maddy Wisniewski (Jr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) led the Pack in kills in both matches. Wisniewski totaled 10 kills against UAM. She bashed down nine kills against the Crimson Storm. She also swatted four blocks in the morning match.
Kelsey Bell (Sr., Los Lunas, N.M.) had a double-double in each match. Bell finished with 13 assists and 11 digs against Southern Nazarene. She dished out 17 assists and came up with 10 digs in the win over the Boll Weevils. Bell dropped in four aces.
Grace Hern (So., Omaha, Neb.) notched a double-double with 17 assists and 10 digs in the Pack's victory against UAM. She had 23 assists in the second match of the day.
The ThuunderWolves wrapped up the preseason 2-6. They will begin Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play with they face Western Colorado University at 7 p.m. Friday in the Pack's home opener at Massari Arena.
