Pack heads to Oklahoma for four matches

PUEBLO, Colo. (September 11, 2019) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball will head to Durant, Oklahoma for Southeastern Classic and four matches starting Friday at 12 p.m. when they play University of Texas-Tyler.
 
The ThunderWolves will face the host institution Southeastern Oklahoma State University at 2 p.m. Friday. CSU-Pueblo will tangle with the University of Arkansas-Monticello Saturday at 10 a.m. The Pack will wrap up non-conference play against Southern Nazarene University Saturday at 2 p.m.
 
After an 0-4 start to the season at the Missouri Southern State Tournament, the Pack will look for their first win of the season. In that tournament, the Pack was the only team to take a set off of Wayne State College.
 
Kyle Meltzer (Jr., Fort Collins, Colo.) and Sarah Vang (Sr., Parker, Colo.) were both named to the All-Tournament Team at the MSSU Invitational.  Meltzer averaged 3.80 digs per set in her first weekend with the Pack. She also ranks eighth in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with 0.53 aces per set. Meltzer put down eight aces in her first weekend with the Pack.
 
Vang leads the Pack with 2.64 kills per set. She also averaged 2.36 digs per set.
 
Diamond'Nique Young (Fr., Fresno, Calif.) swatted a team-high 0.92 blocks per set in her first weekend of college volleyball. Lissette Lefforge (Jr., Otis, Colo.) has been the Pack's most accurate hitter with a .364 hitting percentage.
 
This tournament will also serve as the Pack's final tune up before RMAC play. They will open their conference slate Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. when they face Western Colorado University in their home opener.
