Wurscher vs Fort Lewis

Pack close regular season on the road Thursday and Saturday

4/24/2019 9:40:00 PM

PUEBLO, Colo. (April 24, 2019) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's lacrosse team wraps the regular season with a pair of road games April 25 and April 27. The ThunderWolves battle Oklahoma Baptist University Thursday at 5 p.m. MT and then travel to Adams State University Saturday for a 1 p.m. tilt.

LAST TIME OUT

The ThunderWolves were awarded an RMAC victory Saturday when Fort Lewis College had to forfeit the game due to a lack of healthy players. The two teams scrimmaged, as the Pack honored their three seniors, Taylor Christensen (M, Colorado Springs, Colo.), Ane Marie Horton (G, Long Beach, Calif.) and Allison Wurscher (A, Tigard, Ore.).

PLAYOFF SCENARIO

CSU-Pueblo is 4-8 overall with a 2-5 RMAC record. If the ThunderWolves secure both wins this weekend the four conference victories would be a new program record.

Reaching 4-5 will likely get the Pack into a tie for fifth or sixth in the RMAC standings, as the top six teams advance to the RMAC Tournament. CSU-Pueblo will be scoreboard watching, as Westminster enters the weekend with three conference wins and plays a winless Adams State University team and an undefeated Regis Rangers squad. If the Griffins were to finish 4-5 and tie with the ThunderWolves, WC would have the tie breaker with a win against the Pack (13-9, April 14). University of Colorado Colorado Springs will also be in the mix, as they stand at 4-4 entering a road contest at Rockhurst University (5-3 RMAC). A three-way tie at 4-5 would move the tie breaker to head-to-head competition between the three teams. All three are 1-1 against each other, so the next breaker is goal differential in those games against each other. The ThunderWolves have a -2 differential with a two-goal win against UCCS and the four-goal loss to WC, Westminster owns a -1 differential after losing to the Mountain Lions by five and winning by four against the Pack and finally UCCS has a +3 differential with a five-goal win and two-gal deficit. In that scenario, UCCS gets the five seed and the Griffins are the sixth seed. If Westminster wins both and UCCS loses, the head-to-head with the Mountain Lions would go to the Pack for the sixth seed.
