Pack Baseball starts eight-game road trek at Adams State

PUEBLO, Colo. (April 17, 2019) -  Colorado State University- Pueblo Baseball begins an eight-game road trip with a four-game series at Adams State University.
 
This series between the Pack and Grizzlies starts Thursday at 3 p.m. Friday will feature a doubleheader between the two squads starting at 12 p.m. The Pack and Grizzlies will wrap up their series Saturday at 12 p.m.

Pack Notes:
 
- The Pack enters the weekend with a 12-12 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. CSU-Pueblo sits 17-20 overall after getting swept by Colorado School of Mines.
 
- The ThunderWolves have struckout a RMAC-best 345 batters. They rank 10th in DII with 10.5 strikeouts per nine innings.  CSU-Pueblo has punched out 48 more batters than any other team in the RMAC.
 
- Gilbert Sauceda (Sr., Indio, Calif.) set a program record with his 136th career walk, breaking the previous record of 135 held by Chase Lacomb. Sauceda now stands at 137 career walks. He needs 14 to match the RMAC record.
 
- Beau Brieske (Jr., Chandler, Ariz.) leads the RMAC with 89 strikeouts. He has struckout 10 or more batters in six starts this season. Brieske rang up 10 batters in five innings his first outing o the season against the Grizzlies. The righty ranks eighth in D-II. Brieske's 14.30 K/9 inning ratio ranks ninth in D-II and leads the South Central Region.
 
- Sauceda leads the RMAC with 29 walks. His .503 on base percentage places him third in the RMAC. 
 
- Dakota Popham (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) ranks fourth in the RMAC with 39 RBIs. His 14 doubles also place him fourth in the RMAC. Popham's .388 batting average and .478 on base percentage rank 10th in the conference. The Pack's third baseman ranks fifth in the RMAC with 39 runs scored.
 
- Rion Santamaria (Jr., Yorba Linda, Calif.) ranks fourth in the RMAC with a .498 OBP. Santamaria's .398 batting average stands seventh in the conference. He batted .727 in the Pack's first series against Adams State earlier this season.
 
- Easton Adler (Jr., Mead, Colo.) ranks fifth in the RMAC with a .411 average. Adler's 10 steals stand seventh in the RMAC. His .496 OBP ranks sixth.
 
- Josh Dahl (Sr., Glendale, Ariz.) ranks third in the RMAC with 70 strikeouts. Dahl has rang up 27 batters looking, the most in the RMAC. He ranks 29th in D-II with 12.35 K/9 inning.
 
Scouting Adams State:
- The Grizzlies stand 7-31. They are 4-20 in RMAC play. The Pack swept the Grizzlies in a three-game set opening weekend. The ThunderWolves outscored Adams State 61-15 during that series.
 
- Adams State hits .254 as a team, worst in the RMAC. They have a 10.54 ERA, also last in the conference.
