Ferrie fires in five goals, Davis breaks career points record at Westminster

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (April 14, 2019) -  A slow start prevented Colorado State University-Pueblo Men's Lacrosse from knocking off Westminster College Sunday as the Pack dropped a 15-11 final to the Griffins at Dumke Field.

Anthony Ferrie (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) matched a career-high with five goals. Ferrie also dished out three assists. The attackman caused a team-high two turnovers and snagged two ground balls.

With his eight-point game, Ferrie surpassed the 100-point plateau for his career, despite playing defense for his first two seasons. Ferrie's 4.73 points per game lead the RMAC.

Taylor Davis (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) fired in two goals. Davis totaled five points courtesy of three assists. With his five-point game, Davis became the Pack's leader in career points at 152, breaking former teammate Blake Foerster's school record of 151 points.

Weston Bartgis (Sr., El Cajon, Calif.) scored two goals. Bartgis now has four consecutive two-goal games. He has six multi-goal performances in 2019.  Bartgis added four ground balls.

Midfielders Tommy Vassallo (Jr., Sarasota, Fla.) and Skyler Weathers (Fr., Ogden, Utah) each had a goal. Weathers also added an assist.

The Griffins netted the game's first five goals. Ferrie put in the Pack's first goal nine minutes into the game. Weathers potted a goal to cut the Griffins lead to three.

However, the Griffins got the next three goals to make it 8-2. They led 10-5 at halftime.

A low scoring third quarter saw the Griffins outscore the Pack 2-1 to push the lead back to six. The ThunderWolves fought back with a 4-1 run that brought them back within three (13-10). The Pack would not get any closer as the Griffins pulled away with a 15-11 win.

The Pack now stands 6-5 overall with a 1-2 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. Westminster improved to 3-0 in RMAC play (6-6 overall).
