Box Score 2 DENVER, Colo. (
(March 9, 2019) – Colorado State University – Pueblo Baseball split its Saturday doubleheader with Metro State University Denver at Regency Athletic Complex. The Pack won game one 7-2, but dropped the second game 6-2.
Josh Dahl (Sr., Glendale, Ariz.) threw a seven inning complete game in the first contest. Dahl struckout 10 on the way to his second win of the season. He limited the Roadrunners to five hits and two runs. The righty surrendered two runs. Dahl ranks second in the RMAC with 43 strikeouts.
Robbie Espinosa (Sr., Yorba Linda, Calif.) belted his first home run of the season. Espinosa's 3-run shot was the key shot of game one. He finished 1-for-3.

Daniel Abiles each had a two-hit game. Romero (Jr., Albuquerque, N.M.) had two hits including a double in game one. He had a run and picked up a RBI. Abiles (Jr., Chandler, Ariz.) went 2-for-2 with a walk in game two. He drove in a run as well.
Rion Santamaria (Jr., Yorba Linda, Calif.) plated two runs in game one. He finished 2-for-4 in the first game. Santamaria had one hit in game two.
Easton Adler (Jr., Mead, Colo.) went 2-for-4 in game two. He scored a run.
The Pack took charge of game one early with five runs in the first. Romero knocked in
Dakota Popham (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) with a single to start the scoring.
Adrian Martinez (Jr., Tucson, Ariz.) drove in Santamaria with a single. Espinosa added to the damage with a towering three run shot to make it 5-0 before the Roadrunners even batted.
After MSU Denver hit a two-run home run in the third, the Pack answered with two of their own in the fourth. Santamaria smacked a two-run single that plated
Gilbert Sauceda (Sr., Indio, Calif.) and
Kodee Martin (Jr., Platte County, Mo.) to make it 7-2. Dahl shut down the Roadrunners the rest of the way. He stranded one runner in each of the final four innings.
Game two saw the Roadrunners jump out to an early lead with three runs in the first inning. The Pack attempted to rally in the fourth. Abiles knocked in Adler and Martinez scored on a
Jesse Holguin (Fr., Colton, Calif.) bunt that allowed the Pack to cut it to 3-2.
The Roadrunners would score three runs of their own in the fourth. They would close out the Pack 6-2.
Chris Douglas (Sr., Phoenix, Ariz.) took the loss in game two, falling to 0-1.
CSU-Pueblo now stands 7-8 on the year with a 2-1 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. The Pack will try to win the series Sunday when they face the Roadrunners in the series finale Sunday at 12 p.m.
