PUEBLO, Colo. (March 7, 2019) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Baseball will start Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play Friday at 2 p.m. when the Pack opens a four-game series at Metro State University Denver. The Pack and Roadrunners will clash in a doubleheader Saturday at before concluding their series with a game Sunday at 1 p.m.

The ThunderWolves enter RMAC play at 5-7. They swept Minot State University in a doubleheader last Friday, taking game one 7-6 with a walk off hit from
Adrian Martinez (Jr., Tucson, Ariz). The Pack crushed the Beavers 17-2 in game two.
CSU-Pueblo leads the RMAC with 120 runs scored. The Pack ranks in the top five in D-II with 10.0 runs per game. They have scored 17 more runs than Colorado Mesa University, second in the RMAC in scoring, in two less games.
The ThunderWolves rank sixth in the RMAC with 12.3 strikeouts per nine innings. They have fanned a RMAC-best 133 batters.
Beau Brieske (Jr., Chandler, Ariz.) leads the RMAC with 41 strikeouts in just 20.2 innings pitched. His 41 strikeouts are good for eighth in the nation and second among starters who have only made four starts. Brieske's 17.85 k/9 inning ratio ranks sixth in D-II and tops all D-II starters who have started more than one game.
Josh Dahl (Sr., Glendale, Ariz.) earned his first career win against the Beavers. Dahl struckout 10 batters in five innings. He allowed just one run on three hits and two walks. The righty ranks second in the RMAC with 33 strikeouts in 20.0 innings pitched. His 14.85 k/9 ratio ranks 25th in D-II.
Briekse and Dahl have struckout 27 more batters combined than any other duo in the RMAC. At 74 combined strikeouts, Briekse and Dahl have punched out more batters combined than the entire pitching staff at Regis University (66) and New Mexico Highlands University (55).
JP Hopkins (R-Jr., Chino Hills, Calif.) continues to sit atop the RMAC's batting average leaders. Hopkins is hitting .545, the 19th-highest average in D-II. His .600 OBP also leads the RMAC.
Gilbert Sauceda (Sr., Indio, Calif.) inched closer to the Pack and RMAC walks records. His 122 career walks rank second in program history and third in conference history. The Pack's first baseman needs 13 walks to set a school record and 30 to claim the RMAC's walks crowns. Sauceda ranks second in the RMAC with a .552 OBP.
Reggie Williams (Fr., Castle Rock, Colo.) ranks eighth in the RMAC with 13 RBIs. In five starts, Williams has 10 RBIs, an average of two per game.
Scouting MSU Denver
- The Roadrunners enter RMAC play with a 6-5 overall record. Their last game was a 31-3 win over the University of Mary. They beat the Pack in three of the four meetings last year.
- MSU Denver leads the RMAC with a .330 batting average, one point higher than CSU-Pueblo. Their 3.00 team ERA also leads the conference.
- Javi Vega leads the Roadrunner pitching staff with 16.2 innings pitched. His 1.62 ERA paces the Roadrunners who hhave the three starters with an ERA under 3.00.
