DENVER, Colo. (March 10, 2018) – In the last game of their four-game series, Colorado State University – Pueblo Baseball fell to Metro State University Denver 13-5 at the Regency Athletic Complex.
Jesse Holguin (Fr., Colton, Calif.) clubbed his first collegiate home run. Holguin's dinger drove in two runs, matching his career-high. He scored two runs. Holguin went 1-for-2 with a walk.
Adrian Martinez (Jr., Tucson, Ariz.) had the Pack's only other extra base hit with a double. Martinez went 2-for-4 and scored on Holguin's home run.
Stone Romero (Jr., Albuquerque, N.M.) collected two hits in four trips and drove in a run.
Reggie Williams (Fr., Castle Rock, Colo.) knocked in two runs. He finished 1-for-3.
Easton Adler (Jr., Mead, Colo.) and
Rion Santamaria (Jr., Yorba Linda, Calif.) each went 2-for-4. Santamaria also scored a run.
The Roadrunners raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first. They added two more runs in the third inning.
CSU-Pueblo battled back with three run in the fifth. Romero plated Holguin with a single. Williams followed with a two-run single of his own that drove in Santamaria and
Gilbert Sauceda (Sr., Indio, Calif.).
MSU Denver answered with three runs of their own in the fifth. The Pack fought back in the sixth when Holguin swatted his first Pack home run to cut the Roadrunner lead to 9-5.
That would be the Pack's last offensive showing. The Roadrunners would pull away with a 13-5 win.
Brett Matthews (Jr., Queen Creek, Ariz.) took the loss in his Pack debut.

Timmy Burtzloff (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) each threw a scoreless inning.
Andrew Coverly (Jr., Centennial, Colo.) had 0.2 scoreless innings of work.
The Pack and Roadrunners now both sit 2-2 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. CSU-Pueblo owns a 7-9 overall.
The ThunderWolves will return home to host Regis University for a four-game series. This series between the Pack and Rangers will start Friday March 15 at 6 p.m.
