BELMONT, Calif. (March 10, 2019) – Colorado State University – Pueblo Men's Lacrosse smashed Notre Dame de Namur University 25-10 Sunday afternoon.
The Pack improved to 3-0. This is their best start in program history. The ThunderWolves have averaged 19.3 goals per game, including 23.0 goals per game this weekend.
Taylor Davis (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) recorded his second sock trick in as many days. Davis scored six goals, giving him 12 on the weekend.
Anthony Ferrie (Sr., Littleton, Colo.) handed out five assists. Ferrie netted two goals for seven points.
Jacob Muir (Fr., Ogden, Utah) won 25-of-31 faceoffs. Muir snagged a career-high 15 groundballs. Muir also added an assist.
Tommy Vassallo (Jr., Sarasota, Fla.) and
Skylar Weathers (Fr., Ogden, Utah) each netted a career-high four goals. Vassallo added an assist. Weathers scored four goals on four shots.
Dante Buck (So., Farmington, Minn.),
Isaiah Parker (Fr., Windsor, Colo.), and
Tyler Reed (So., Sacramento, Calif.) each scored two goals. Parker had two assists, while Buck and Reed each dished out an assist apiece.
Weston Bartgis (Sr., El Cajon, Calif.),
Caleb Cole (Fr., Houston, Texas), and
Devin Thrower (Jr., Las Vegas, Nev.) all scored a goal. Bartgis chipped in two assists. Thrower had three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Garrett Breeling (Fr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) earned his first win in his Pack debut. Breeling made 12 saves on 22 shots for a 54.5 save percentage.
Michael DeMaio (So., Gambrills, Md.) caused two turnovers and snagged four ground balls.
Kyle Sanchez (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) collected three ground balls and caused two turnovers as well.
The Pack got off to a fast start, scoring three times in the opening two minutes. After an Argo goal, the Pack rattled off six consecutive goals. They led 9-1 after one. Davis scored four times in the opening stanza.
The Argos got the first two goals of the second quarter to close within six. The Pack scored the next four goals to lead 13-3 at the half.
CSU-Pueblo scored the first four goals of the second half to make it 17-3. Between the second and third quarters the Pack went on a seven-goal run. The ThunderWolves led 21-7 after three.
In the fourth quarter, the Pack outscored the Argos 14-2. They cruised to a 25-10 win with their highest goal total of the young season. They had a 44-16 advantage in ground balls.
The Pack will continue its six-game road trip with a three-game journey through the Sunshine State. The Pack's Florida trip starts Sunday March 17 at 11 a.m. against Rollins College
