Pack Baseball clashes with regional foe Angelo State in four-game series at Rawlings

PUEBLO, Colo. (February 21, 2019) – After a week away from the diamond, Colorado State University-Pueblo Baseball will host Angelo State University in a four-game series at Rawlings Field, Friday through Sunday. The action begins at 12 p.m. each day with a double-header Saturday.

Promotions:
All kids 17 & under will receive Free Admission for Friday's game and every Friday home game all season long. Beer sales will continue at Rawlings Field. Fans can purchase a beer and a hot dog for $5 at the concession stand.

Pack Notes:
-The ThunderWolves enter the weekend 3-3 with a 3-0 record at home. The Pack swept Adams State University in its first series of the season, before being swept at Pittsburg State University in their last series.

- Gilbert Sauceda (Sr., Indio, Calif.) continues his march to the CSU-Pueblo and RMAC walks record With 119 career walks, Sauceda needs 32 free passes to become the RMAC's all-time leader. He already ranks third all-time in conference history. Just 16 walks will make Sauceda the Pack's all-time leader.

- Sauceda has 11 walks already this season, the most in the RMAC. The Pack's first baseman leads the RMAC and ranks fifth in D-II in walks per game. Sauceda leads the RMAC with a .633 OBP.

- Rion Santmaria (Jr., Yorba, Linda, Calif.) leads D-II with four triples. He has twice as many triples as anyone else in the RMAC. Santmaria ranks second in the RMAC in batting average (.545) and OBP (.615).

- The ThunderWolves rank sixth in D-II with a .346 team batting average, best in the RMAC. With 12.0 runs per game, the Pack ranks second in the nation. They are third in the triples per game.

- Beau Brieske (Jr., Chandler, Ariz.)  ranks sixth in D-II and leads the RMAC with 18.0 k/9 innings. Briekse's 22 strikeouts lead the RMAC through two starts, and ranks 21st nationally.

- The Pack ranks fifth in the RMAC with 13.2 K/9 innings. Josh Dahl (Sr., Glendale, Ariz.) struck out 11 batters in his last start. Dahl ranks second in the RMAC with 17 strikeouts.

Scouting Angelo State:
- The Rams enter the weekend with a 7-4 record in 2019. Angelo State went 1-2 in their three-game series with Lubbock Christian University last week.

- The Pack and Rams met in a four-game series last year in San Angelo, Texas. The two teams split the four-game series. Angelo State leads the all-time series 9-5 since 1994.

- Angelo State ranks fourth in D-II with a .348 average. Josh Elvir leads the Lone Star Conference with six home runs and 17 RBIs.
