Pivotal RMAC road trip looms for Pack Women

PUEBLO, Colo. (February 14, 2019) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Women's Basketball will hit the road for the final time during the 2018-19 regular season when they visit University of Colorado Colorado Springs Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Colorado School of Mines Saturday at 5 p.m. in a pair of games that could help determine seeding for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament.

The "Starting Five" - CSU-Pueblo's Top Storylines
1. The Pack enters the weekend in a three-team tie for third place in the RMAC standings. They will face the two teams they are tied this weekend when they play the Mountain Lions and Orediggers who both have matched the Pack with an 11-6 record in RMAC play. Only two games separate third and ninth place in the RMAC standings adding extra importance to this weekend's contests. The Pack stands 13-10 overall.

2. Jennah Knafelc (Sr., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) ranks fifth in the RMAC with 14.5 points per game. Knafelc needs to make three 3-pointers to reach 100 for her Pack career. Her 57 3-pointers this season rank ninth all-time along with Mary Rehfeld. Knafelc needs eight 3-pointers to join the Pack's top 10 in career treys. She is also on pace to become the school's most accurate 3-point shooter in program history, making 36.2 percent from downtown for her career.

3. Lauren Heyn (Sr., Penryn, Calif.)  ranks ninth all-time at CSU-Pueblo with 596 rebounds. She needs 7 rebounds to pass former teammate Katie Cunningham for eighth all-time. Her 96 blocks are sixth all-time at CSU-Pueblo. She needs seven rejections to enter the top five. Heyn's .493 career field goal percentage would rank fifth all-time at CSU-Pueblo.

4. The Pack leads the RMAC with 4.52 blocks per game. They rank 27th nationally in rejections per game. Khiya Adams (Jr., Falcon, Colo.) and Sydni Williams (So., Little Rock, Ark.) each average 1.0 blocks per game.  

5. JaNaiya Davis (Fr., Hewitt, Texas) averaged 4.5 steals per game and 2.5 blocks per game last week. Davis set a career-high with five steals and three blocks in the Pack's win over South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. Over her last three games, Davis has averaged 12.3 points per game, 4.0 steals per game, 1.8 blocks per game, and 6.0 rebounds per game.

Scouting UCCS:
- The Mountain Lions stand 12-11 overall. UCCS brings an 11-6 record into RMAC play. The Pack leads the all-time series with the Mountain Lions 38-20. UCCS beat the Pack 58-50 two weeks ago.

- Madi Gaibler received RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors Monday. Gaibler averaged 21.0 points per game last week while making 64.0 percent from the field. Coming off the bench, Gaibler scored 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting in the first meeting between the Pack and UCCS. 

- UCCS ranks 15th in the RMAC in turnover margin. They have a -3.04 turnover margin. The Mountain Lions average 6.52 steals per game 14th-most in the RMAC.

Scouting Mines:
- The Orediggers are 14-8 overall with an 11-6 record in RMAC play. The Pack leads the all-time series 37-18. The Orediggers beat the Pack 66-47 in the first meeting. The 47-point showing was the Pack's lowest of the season.

- Mines remains the best rebounding team in the conference. They average 41.5 rebounds per game, most in the RMAC. The Orediggers average 7.8 rebounds per game more than their opponents, the best rebounding margin of any RMAC Tournament and the 24th-best rebounding margin in D-II.

- Denali Pinto leads the Orediggers with 15.2 points per game. Pinto ranks fourth in the RMAC in points per game. In the first meeting between the Pack and Orediggers, Pinto scored a career-high 33 points.
