Pack Volleyball eyes first weekend sweep at Grizzlies & Skyhawks

PUEBLO, Colo. (November 6, 2019) – Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball will hit the road for the final time in the 2019 regular season as the Pack visits Adams State University Friday at 7 p.m. The Pack will also travel to Durango, Colo. for a showdown with Fort Lewis College Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Last Time Out:
The Pack went 1-1 last weekend. CSU-Pueblo knocked off Westminster College in five sets Friday, but the Pack fell to Dixie State in four sets Saturday.

Pack Notes:
CSU-Pueblo brings an 11-13 record into the weekend. At 8-7 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play, the Pack shares seventh place in the RMAC standings. The ThunderWolves are looking for their first RMAC Tournament appearance since 2016.

The Pack is also looking for its first weekend sweep of the 2019 season. CSU-Pueblo has gone 1-1 every weekend of RMAC play.

Jazzy Espinoza (So., Cheyenne, Wyo.) set a school record with a .727 hitting percentage in the Pack's win over the Griffins. This is the highest hitting percentage by a ThunderWolf in a five –set match. It also ranks as the sixth-highest hitting percentage in a single match in RMAC history by a player with over 20 attacks. Espinoza had a season-high 16 kills in the win over the Griffins.

Page Heller (Sr., Vancouver, Wash.) entered the Pack's top 10 all-time in career digs. Heller now has 944 career digs, leap-frogging Rachelle Delimont for 10th all-time. She needs 17 digs to surpass Mariangel Perez for ninth all-time.

Brooke Schilling (Jr., Platteville, Colo.) averaged 3.44 kills per set last week. Schilling leads the Pack with 2.70 kills per set.

Espinoza ranks third in the RMAC with 102 total blocks. She stands 29th in D-II in total blocks. With 18 total blocks, Espinoza would match the Pack's team total from last season by herself. She had 13 blocks last weekend including six solo blocks.

Diamond'Nique Young (Fr., Fresno, Calif.) ranks fourth in the RMAC with 1.15 blocks per set. As a team, the Pack ranks fourth in the RMAC with 2.27 blocks per set.

Last Meeting: The Pack fell to Adams State in four sets Oct. 12 at Massari Arena. Adams State has lost seven consecutive matches since their win over the ThunderWolves.  The Grizzlies have won the last eight meetings.

Series Record: Fort Lewis leads the all-time series 38-36.
Last Meeting: The ThunderWolves swept  the Skyhawks, Oct. 11. Young had 11 kills and hit .533 in the win. The Skyhawks have lost four of their last five matches.
