GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (October 18, 2019) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team lost a tough match on the road Friday against Western Colorado University, falling 1-0 to the Mountaineers on a neutral pitch at Colorado Mesa's Walker Field in Grand Junction, Colo.
The ThunderWolves were guided by
Porsche Nieto (So., Thornton, Colo.) who finished with six shots in the game.
Western scored in the first minute of the game. Following the goal, the ThunderWolves took control and begin their attack on Western's defense.
CSU-Pueblo fired 21 shots against six for Western. The Pack also finished ahead in corner kicks by a 7-1 clip.

At halftime, the Pack had six shots and earned three corners.
In the final period, the ThunderWolves kept the pressure and shooting at the net, keeping the Mountaineers goalkeeper on her toes throughout.
The best scoring chance for the ThunderWolves came in the 63' on three straight shots by
Litzy Serna (Jr., West Jordan, UT), Nieto, and
Summer Hatch (So., Elizabeth, Colo.) were all defended and saved by the goalkeeper.
Pack goalkeeper
Rylie Martin (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colo.) made two saves and faced six shots by Western.
CSU-Pueblo (5-6-1, 4-3-1 RMAC) will stay in Grand Junction and return to action Sunday against Colorado Mesa. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. at Walker Field.
