DURANGO, Colo. (April 22, 2018) - The Colorado State University-Pueblo softball team wrapped its regular season road schedule Sunday splitting a doubleheader at Fort Lewis College. The Pack lost game one 8-6 and rebounded with a 6-3 win in game two.

Three Pack players posted at least four hits in the doubleheader led by Marissa Piatt (Fr., San Luis Obispo, Calif.) with five on the day and three walks.

In the first game CSU-Pueblo played catch up after a four-run first inning and another run scored in the second put FLC up 5-0 after two innings.

The ThunderWolves got on the board in the third inning, capitalizing on a defensive error and a RBI-single from Morgan Hatfield (Jr., Upland, Calif.).

An RBI-single by Piatt in the fourth got the Pack within 5-3 deficit.

The home team extended the lead when three more runs scored in their half of the fifth and build a five-run lead at 8-3.

In the sixth inning Michaela Burpee (Jr., Union City, Calif.) smacked a two-run single and get the Pack down by three.

During the final at bat for the Pack and after two quick outs, Vivian Ledesma (Jr., Colton, Calif.) singled and came around to score on another Piatt single.

The Pack loaded the bases and got the tying run in scoring position before FLC converted a game-ending strikeout and ended the game 8-6.

In the series finale the home team scored three runs on five hits and was limited to three hits the remainder of the contest.

CSU-Pueblo scored its first run in the fourth on a single up the middle by K'Lee Kent (Sr., Hobbs, NM) and tacked on another run in the next inning thanks to a Hatfield RBI single to get the Pack within one run, 3-2.

After a 1-2-3 sixth inning by the Pack defense brought the top of their lineup to bat in the seventh inning.

Gabby Moreno (So., Scottsdale, Ariz.) got her second hit of the game to get the rally started. The next two batters reached and the scoring began on back-to-back defensive errors on the infield. A fielder's choice and single through the left side put the Pack up by three runs at 6-3 leading to the Skyhawks' final at bat.

Pack pitcher Andria Skeels (Fr., Kennewick, Wash.) earned her first win of the year after she came on in relief in the first inning and pitched 6.2 innings and allowed no runs and scattered four hits.

With the series split the ThunderWolves moved into the eighth spot of the RMAC standings going to the final series.

CSU-Pueblo (15-32, 13-23 RMAC) returns home and finishes the regular season against No. 1 Colorado Mesa Apr. 28-29 at Rawlings Softball Complex.
