Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. (October 27, 2018) - Colorado State University –Pueblo Volleyball celebrated senior night, but did not get to celebrate a win as the Pack fell in four sets to Adams State University (23-25, 19-25, 25-19, 22-25) Saturday at Massari Arena.
Before the match started, the Pack recognized its lone senior, Pua Keola (Honolulu, Hawaii. Keola finished her career with 430 career digs.
Grace Hern (Fr., Omaha, Neb.) earned a double-double with 42 assists and 10 digs. She now has 11 double-doubles on the season.
After earning Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the week honors, Brooke Schilling(So., Platteville, Colo.) led the Pack with 13 kills. Schilling finished the four-match homestand with 4.25 kills per set. She added four digs and two blocks in the loss, while hitting .214.
Berkley Hays (Fr., Dallas, Texas) hit a team-best .308. Hays batted down 11 kills. She also had one solo block.
Page Heller (Jr., Vancouver, Wash.) continued her climb up the Pack's single-season digs chart. Heller now has 492 digs on the season.
Mallorie Post (So., Federal Way, Wash.) led the pack with four blocks. Post had one solo block. She completed her line with seven kills.
Grace Miles (So., Parker, Colo.) finished with nine kills and five digs. She hit .217.
The first set stayed close until the Pack used a 4-0 run to jump in front 18-14. Adams State responded with a 4-0 run of their own to tie it. The two teams continued to trade points with the Pack leading 23-22. Adams State answered with a 3-0 run to win the first set 25-23.
In set two, the ThunderWolves came out on fire. They jumped in front 9-2. Adams State fought back with a 10-2 run of its own. They finished the set on a 6-1 run to take it 25-19 and build a 2-0 lead.
The ThunderWolves once again started the set strong, seizing an 8-2 advantage early in the third. This time the Pack would hold off their foes. They would not let the Grizzlies get any closer than three as they rolled to a 25-19 set win.
Set four saw the Pack continue their hot streak at the start of sets with a 5-1 run. After Grizzly swing, the Pack put together a four-point swing to reclaim the lead. With the score tied at 17, the Grizzlies broke the tie with a 6-2 stretch that would lead them to a 25-22 set win and the victory.
The Pack will wrap up its 2018 season Friday with a visit to New Mexico Highlands University. First serve between the ThunderWolves and Cowgirls is set for 7 p.m.
