Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. (October 20, 2018) - Colorado State University-Pueblo Volleyball smashed Westminster College in three sets (25-20, 25-17, 25-20) Saturday night at Massari Arena.
Brooke Schilling (So., Platteville, Colo.) dominated match-high 16 kills and 21 digs. She hit a career-best .400 for the match with no hitting errors in 40 attacks. The sophomore set a career-high with her 21-dig performance
The double-double was Schilling's 10th of the season. She averaged 4.5 kills per set and 4.1 digs per this weekend. Schilling hit .341 for the weekend.
Grace Hern (Fr., Omaha, Neb.) collected 41 assists. Hern's 41 assists are the most by a Pack setter in a three set match since Kacy Griffin had 42 in 2011.
Page Heller (Jr., Vancouver, Wash.) finished with 19 digs. Heller added three assists and even got a kill.
Grace Miles (So., Parker, Colo.) knocked down 10 kills. Miles hit .350 for the match. She led the Pack with four blocks, including one solo rejection. Mallorie Post (So., Federal Way, Wash.) also accounted for four blocks.
Maddy Wisniewski (So., Highlands Ranch, Colo.) smacked nine kills. ShiAnn Rodriguez (R-So., Pueblo, Colo.) added 10 digs.
The Pack outhit the Griffins .276 to .096. Westminster never scored more than four consecutive points. They never led by more than three.
Trailing 14-11 in the first set, the Pack retaliated with five consecutive points to claim the lead. The Pack used another 3-0 run to build a 21-17 advantage. They went on to win the first set 25-20. Schilling had five kills and six digs in the first set.
The Pack used a 6-1 run to stake themselves to a 14-10 edge in set two. The ThunderWolves rolled to a 25-17 win in set two.
A 5-0 run in set three gave the Pack a 20-15 lead. The Griffins would never get closer than four as the Pack prevailed 25-20 in set three. They hit .302 in the final set.
CSU-Pueblo will continue its four-match homestand Friday Oct. 26 against Fort Lewis College. The Pack and Skyhawks will serve it up at Massari Arena at 7 p.m.
