LAKEWOOD, Colo. (October 4, 2015) – The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's soccer team played to its second straight tied game Sunday, playing to a 0-0 tie at Colorado Christian University.
CSU-Pueblo had several opportunities at the net, firing 23 shots to the Cougars five in the game.
Sandra Grimaldo (Jr., F, Mammoth Lakes, Calif.) led the offensive attack, kicking a game high five shots.
Playing to a scoreless tie at halftime, CSU-Pueblo held an 18-4 lead in shots and 5-2 corner kick advantage.
Pack goalkeeper Alison Darr (Jr., Placerville, Calif.) fended off four shots from the Cougars, facing minimal threat.
CSU-Pueblo had several players with multiple shots at the net including four from Megan Garcia (R-So., D, Pueblo, Colo.) and three each by Karley Whiteman (Fr., F, Alta Loma, Calif.) and Mariel Hundley (Jr., Mid., Las Vegas, Nev.) paced the Pack attack.
In the first overtime period, CSU-Pueblo managed two shots to the Cougars zero attempts at the net.
The ThunderWolves and Cougars headed into the second overtime with high intensity, firing a combined four shots, three by the Pack and one for CCU.
CSU-Pueblo (4-4-2, 2-3-2 RMAC) next play Wednesday when they travel to Midwestern State in a nonconference matchup.
