Ravens promote former Pack standout Jensen from practice squad

BALTIMORE, Md. (December 16, 2014) – The National Football League's Baltimore Ravens have signed former Colorado State University-Pueblo offensive lineman Ryan Jensen from its practice squad to its active roster, announced Tuesday by team officials.

Jensen, a native of Fort Morgan, Colorado played with the ThunderWolves from 2009-2012. He earned All-American honors in 2011 and 2012, and was a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award, given to the top Division II lineman. He will look to help the Ravens make a late-season push for the playoffs.

A sixth round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft, Jensen became the fourth CSU-Pueblo football player to be drafted. He joins former ThunderWolves Frank Grant, Glen Printers and Herman Heard to be chosen to play at the professional level.

The ThunderWolves now have two players on an active NFL roster, as Jensen joins former defensive tackle, Mike Pennel, who was selected to the Green Bay Packers' 53-man roster at the beginning of the 2014 season.

Jensen was the first NFL draftee from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference since 1989, when former San Diego Charger wide receiver Tony Martin was drafted in the fifth round. Since the NFL adopted the 7-round draft in 1994, no RMAC players have been drafted.

The Ravens (9-5) currently sit in third place in the AFC North Division and is in the sixth and final playoff spot as a wild card in the AFC with two weeks remaining in the regular season. The Ravens will next play at the Houston Texans in week 16, before wrapping up the regular season at home versus the Cleveland Browns.
